Directions to The Lodge at Sleepy Creek, WV

The following directions are for The Lodge at Sleepy Creek, outside Berkeley Springs, WV.

From Northern Virginia

  • Take the Capital Beltway I-495 towards Rockville, MD
  • Keep left and take the I-270 Spur toward Rockville/Frederick MD
    (Directions continue below.)

From Maryland:

From Washington DC/Hagerstown

Take I-70 West to the route 522 exit (1B) into Berkeley Springs. This will be the exit immediately after the first Hancock, MD exit. Drive in the left-hand lane and as your proceed up the hill, you will see the sign for Berkeley Springs.

After you take this exit you will be heading south on Route 522. Cross the Potomac River and continue south into Berkeley Springs. (Directions continue below.)

From Northern Virginia

Take Route 7 toward Winchester. Get on I-81 North and take the NEXT EXIT. At the bottom of the ramp you will take a left and this will take you to 522 North. As you approach 522, bear right onto 522 North.

Continue north on 522 and enjoy the scenery as you head towards Berkeley Springs. This part of the trip will take between 30 and 40 minutes. Once you come into Berkeley Springs,

From Martinsburg, WV (I-81 and Rt. 9)

On I-81 North or South (in Berkeley County), take exit 16, Rt. 9 west towards Berkeley Springs. Stay on Rt. 9 and drive through Hedgesville to eventually arrive in Berkeley Springs. The Lodge is before Berkeley Springs

Directions Continue

  • Exit 32/Hagerstown MD near Frederick, MD onto I-70 West.
  • Continue about 20 miles past the I-81 turnoff.
  • Exit 1B Left toward Hancock/Windsor onto Highway 522. Stay Left toward Berkeley Springs.
  • Drive 6.9 miles (thru the main business area of Berkeley Springs to the Sheetz gas station.)
  • Turn onto Route 9 East and drive 5.8 miles. (Use your trip odometer!)

At the "East 9, By Way, George Washington Heritage Trail" sign, turn Right onto Rabbit Trail (a gravel road - drive very slow) which is 2/10s of a mile past a cemetery. Continue straight past the mailboxes and down a steep incline to The Lodge at the end of the drive.
